Horseback Riding in the Spanish PeaksMEDICINE LAKE OUTFITTERS is permitted by the Gallatin National Forest to provide horseback riding in the Madison, Gallatin and Bridger Mountain Ranges. We also take day rides to destinations on the west side of Yellowstone Park. We have guided trail rides in Greater Yellowstone since 1974.

MLO specializes in small groups and custom trips but can handle large private parties.
We trailer horses from our base in the Gallatin Valley to the day’s trailhead of choice. Normally our guests meet us at the trailhead.

We rendezvous at the trailhead at nine in the morning and try to finish our ride by three in the afternoon.

You will need to bring a jacket, wide brimmed hat with a stampede string to keep it from blowing off in the wind, gloves, lunch, water bottle, sunglasses, and sun screen.  Most folks also bring a camera.

We will provide saddle bags and a full length rain slicker. If you have good rain gear that you really like bring that as well. We have hooded stirrups on our saddles so hiking boots are okay to wear.

MEDICINE LAKE OUTFITTERS is permitted to do rides on nearly three million acres of public land. Our costs differ with each trip depending on distance to the trailhead, party size and makeup, difficulty of terrain and shuttles. The cost of each ride will need to be quoted accordingly.

The fee structure posted on the sidebar is a guideline on what you could expect trip fare to be if arrangements don’t include shuttle or long distances to trailheads.
